Nestled in the heart of Midtown Atlanta, the expansive 60,000-square-foot SCAD Film Studios was the former home of Atlanta TV station WXIA, which broadcast from the building for more than 50 years. SCAD acquired the building in 2008 and reopened it as the SCAD Digital Media Center in 2009. In addition to its film and TV production spaces, the building also houses digital resources for the university’s animation, game development, and visual effects programs.

Theater
Host screenings, panels, and virtual classes in SCAD Film Studios’ 75-seat theater. Crisp 4K images and stunning Dolby Surround 7.1 audio are delivered on this 240” diagonal screen.
Sound Lab
The sound lab at SCAD Film Studios features a comprehensive array of sound recording and mixing equipment: an Avid S6 console for Dolby Surround 7.1 workflow, a Foley room with nine sound pits and a water feature, and a dedicated room for voiceover and live music recording.
